The Turbofan E28M4 is the biggest manual oven in the Turbofan range, a full size 4 tray electric convection oven from Moffat with twin bi-directional reversing fans and 5.6kW of heating power. It takes 4 x 460mm x 660mm full size sheet pans or 4 x 400mm x 600mm trays in a taller chamber, all controlled by a simple mechanical thermostat and 60 minute timer, serious capacity with nothing to learn.

Turbofan ovens are designed and manufactured by Moffat and backed by Moffat's Australia wide service and spare parts network. The E28M4 suits kitchens roasting and baking at volume that want twin fan evenness across four big trays without paying for digital controls, the manual alternative to the E32D4. It is hardwired at 25A, so allow for an electrician at installation. Dual halogen lamps let you check the bake without opening the door. Bench mount it on the supplied stainless steel feet or pair it with the SK2731N or SK2731U stand. Four chrome plated oven racks are supplied.

The matching Turbofan SK2731U stand puts the E28M4 at the perfect working height and adds tray storage underneath, with 6 tray runners taking up to 6 full size sheet pans or 12 half size pans. Does the Turbofan E28M4 need special electrical installation?

Yes. The E28M4 draws 25A and is hardwired with no cordset supplied, so it needs an electrician to connect it to a dedicated circuit. It still runs on standard 230-240V single phase power, no three phase required. Contact us if you are not sure what your site has.

What trays does the Turbofan E28M4 take?

It holds 4 x 460mm x 660mm full size sheet pans or 4 x 400mm x 600mm trays with 80mm spacing between shelves. Four chrome plated oven racks are supplied, and the 4 position side racks are fully removable for cleaning.

Why does the E28M4 have twin fans?

With four full size trays loaded, a single fan struggles to push even heat to every corner. The E28M4 runs twin 180mm bi-directional reversing fans, one for the upper trays and one for the lower, so the top tray and bottom tray come out the same. It makes a real difference on full loads.

What is the difference between the E28M4 and E32D4?

Both hold 4 full size sheet pans. The E28M4 is manual with twin fans at a lower price. The E32D4 adds digital controls, 20 programs, moisture injection and 110mm tray spacing for taller product. If your cooks just turn two knobs and go, save the money and get the E28M4. If you bake pastry and bread on programs, get the E32D4.

Which stand suits the E28M4, the SK2731N or SK2731U?

Both fit the oven, the difference is the tray runners underneath. The SK2731U runners suit full size 460mm x 660mm sheet pans, the SK2731N runners suit 400mm x 600mm trays and GN 1/1 pans. Match the stand to whichever trays you bake on.

Does the E28M4 need to be under an exhaust hood?

No. At 5.8kW the E28M4 sits under the 8kW limit for unhooded electric appliances in Australia, so it does not require an exhaust hood. Ventilation requirements can vary by council, so check your local regulations if unsure.
