Who is EatTucker?
EatTucker is the online store of Commercial Catering Services (CCS), a sales and service company founded in Sydney in 1995.
In the early years CCS concentrated on repairing and maintaining commercial kitchens. Techs Emmet McMullen and Sean Coffey had an edge over other service companies. Both were qualified electricians, gas trained, and held an Industrial Electronics Diploma from TAFE. That meant CCS could service everything in a kitchen, from the dishwasher, stove and combi oven through to the bench top gear.
Years of fixing equipment taught us which products are well designed and which are flimsy, and sometimes the flimsy ones cost more. That's what we use to choose what we sell.
Why the name EatTucker?
EatTucker started out as a fun industry newsletter, with chef interviews, a few rumours, a chef's recipe and the monthly "review the loo". The name said it all.
In 2005 we launched ccsnsw.com, a website selling quality cooking equipment. It was a basic static site and hard to edit. We used EatTucker to promote it, and from time to time posted second hand equipment from chefs, then scratch and dent items. Running two sites got too hard, so we shut ccsnsw.com, rebuilt EatTucker as a sales site and kept the name.
Can I trust EatTucker?
We're not a new internet start up. We've built the business one sale at a time since 1995. We looked after a lot of our better known customers long before they were well known, and we still look after them today. Have a look at our recent projects on the Our Customers page.
Why are your prices so low?
We've kept our prices sharp since 1995. We don't sell the cheapest products, we sell quality products. We know our gear, our market and our suppliers, and that makes us efficient. We don't run a showroom full of dead stock. Everything ships straight from the supplier to you, which keeps our overheads low and the savings go to you.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is typically $120 plus GST. For an exact price to your postcode, use the Freight Cost Guide on any product page. You can also arrange your own freight from our Sydney or Melbourne depots.
