Two independent pans each run their own digital control and immersed heating elements, so you can fry two products at two temperatures at once, or run one pan and save oil in quieter periods. Each pan holds 12 litres and the elements deliver 17kW of frying power, with a cool zone that keeps the oil clean.
Because it heats the oil directly with immersed elements, it recovers temperature fast between baskets. An element tilt switch cuts the heat when the elements are lifted, and a fail-safe over-temperature cut-out and power and heating indicator lights are built in.
The E stands for digital control. Instead of a dial, the FN8224EE has a digital display thermostat that gives tighter temperature accuracy and shows the actual oil temperature as it cooks. It has 3 programmable product timers per pan with countdown displays and alarms: drop a basket and the timer counts down, then alerts you when it is done, and you can set each timer to a different product on a different cook time.
Waldorf 800 Series is made by Moffat. The FN8224EE runs on 415V three phase power, so an electrician makes the final connection. There is no gas, flue or conversion to deal with, which suits sites without a gas supply. The stainless steel pan carries a 10 year limited warranty.
Best for: electric kitchens that want twin pan flexibility plus digital control and basket timers on each pan.
What is the advantage of a twin pan fryer?
Two separate pans let you fry two different products at two different temperatures at the same time, with no flavour transfer. In quieter periods you can run just one pan to save oil and power, then bring the second online when you get busy.
Is it gas or electric?
Electric. It has immersed stainless steel elements and runs on 415V three phase power, so there is no gas connection, flue or gas conversion. An electrician makes the final connection.
How do you clean it?
The heating elements hinge out of the pan and are counterbalanced, so they lift clear for easy cleaning of the open pan. A tilt switch cuts power to the elements when they are raised, and the pan drains through the drain valve.
What does the E digital control add?
The FN8224EE has a digital display thermostat in place of the dial, giving tighter temperature accuracy and showing the actual oil temperature. It adds 3 programmable product timers per pan with countdown and alarms.
