The Scotsman SB 293 is a slope front ice storage bin that holds up to 123kg of ice. It sits under a Scotsman modular ice maker head, which is sold separately, and sells for $1,990 ex GST. Scotsman ice storage bins are distributed and serviced in Australia by Moffat.
Best for: spots with a low ceiling or where staff need to reach the ice maker. At 800mm high it is the lowest bin in the range, so the head on top stays within reach.
SB 293 overview
The SB 293 is the low bin in the range. It stands 800mm high on its legs and holds up to 123kg of ice. It is built for the 760mm wide NW 457, NW 608 and NW 1008 heads, and keeps the total height down.
The slope front lets staff get to the ice without reaching over a high lip. The bin has a stainless steel exterior, a rotocast plastic hinged door, high density polyethylene insulation and rounded inside corners so it is easy to clean. The door gasket comes right off for cleaning, and there is a built in scoop holder.
Which ice makers fit the SB 293?
The SB 293 suits these Scotsman modular heads, from the Moffat price book. Some heads need a top cover so the head sits properly on the bin.

To stack a second head on top for more ice, use the KSC 400-800 stacking kit for the NW 457 and NW 608 ($649 ex GST) or the KSC 1000 stacking kit for the NW 1008 ($717 ex GST).

Does the SB 293 come with an ice maker?
No. The SB 293 is the storage bin only. It sits under a Scotsman modular ice maker head, which you buy separately. The table above shows which heads fit.
How much ice does the SB 293 hold?
Up to 123kg, based on the bin 90% full. On the AHRI industry rating, which is based on 80% full, it is 96kg. Plan on the lower figure if you want a safe margin.
Does the SB 293 need a top cover?
Not for the heads listed above. They sit straight on the bin.
How tall is the SB 293 with an ice maker on top?
Add the height of the head to the bin's 800mm. For example, the NW 457 AS OX is 575mm high, so together they stand about 1375mm, plus any top cover. Check your ceiling height and leave room above the head for air and service.
How does the SB 293 drain?
The supplied drain hose runs from the bin to a floor waste or drain lower than the bin.
What comes with the SB 293?
The bin comes with an ice scoop, a water hose and a drain hose. Top covers and stacking kits are ordered separately if your head needs them.
Do you have scratch and dent SB 293 bins?
Sometimes. Moffat occasionally has units with freight damage or ex-display stock at a lower price. It comes down to availability, so ask us if you want one.
