The Washtech XV is a compact commercial undercounter dishwasher and glasswasher, 500mm wide, with a 450mm x 450mm rack, up to 960 plates per hour, 2.2 litres of water per cycle and an 82°C sanitising rinse. 15A 240V plug in. $4,290 ex GST. Made in New Zealand by Washtech, distributed and serviced in Australia by Moffat.

Best for: Small cafes, wine bars, juice bars, food trucks and any tight kitchen or bar that needs a proper commercial dishwasher in a 500mm wide space, on a plug-in single phase supply, with nothing to learn.

Washtech XV overview

The XV is the small one in the Washtech undercounter range. It is 70mm narrower and 60mm lower than the Washtech XU, Washtech XD and Washtech UD, and 7kg lighter than the next machine up, so it goes where a full-size 500mm rack machine will not. It uses the same 0.5HP wash pump, the same four push-button controls and the same dual chemical pumps as the XU, with a 450mm rack that is easier to lift and carry than a 500mm one. It washes glasses as well as plates and comes with both a cup rack and a dish rack, which is why bars buy it as a glasswasher.

How the Washtech XV cleans

Separated upper and lower composite wash and rinse arms with precision-moulded jets cover the 450mm rack. Hot Rinse Retention drains dirty wash water during the cycle and replaces it with clean rinse water, so each load is washed in the hottest, cleanest water available. The final rinse is 82°C assured, meaning the cycle will not finish until the rinse water has reached sanitising temperature. Stainless steel wash and drain filters catch scraps, and the hands-free drain pump empties the machine without pulling a plug.

Which Washtech undercounter dishwasher do I need?

The XV, XU, XD and UD are all single phase 240V 15 amp machines using 2.2 litres per cycle with an 82°C rinse. The differences are rack size, chamber height, throughput, controls and detergent.

Simple to use

Four push buttons: power on and off, drain, one minute cycle, two minute cycle. That is the whole panel, and it is the same panel as the XU, so staff moving between machines never have to think about it. The Washtech control families are explained in our Washtech controls guide.

Who is the Washtech XV best suited for?

What is the difference between the Washtech XV and the Washtech XU?
The XV is the compact sibling of the XU. Same push-button controls, same 0.5HP wash pump, same composite wash arms, same dual chemical pumps. The XV is 500mm wide and 780mm high with a 450mm rack and a 320mm chamber, rated at up to 960 plates per hour. The XU is 570mm wide and 840mm high with a 500mm rack, a 350mm chamber and up to 1,080 plates per hour. If the space is there, the XU gives you more capacity for $200 more ex GST. If it is not, the XV is the one that fits.

Can the Washtech XV be used as a glasswasher?
Yes. It comes with a 450mm cup rack as well as a dish rack, washes at 82°C rinse like the bigger machines, and its 500mm width suits a back bar. Most bars run it for glasses all night and put plates through it as well.

What rack size does the Washtech XV use?
450mm x 450mm racks, one dish rack and one cup rack supplied. It also takes smaller racks down to 365mm. It does not take the 500mm racks used by the XU, XD and UD.

Does the Washtech XV need a hot water connection?
Hot water at 65°C is the ideal supply, through a 3/4 inch male connection at 200 to 350kPa. The XV will run on cold water, it just has to do more of the heating itself, so cycles take longer to reach the 82°C rinse. Drain is a 25mm flexi hose from the built-in drain pump.

How many racks per hour does the Washtech XV wash?
The machine side of the job is 60 or 120 seconds per rack. Real throughput depends on how quickly racks are loaded and unloaded between cycles, so the rated figure of up to 960 plates per hour is the ceiling, not a guarantee.

Does the Washtech XV need three-phase power?
No. It plugs into a standard 15A 240V single phase outlet, so most cafe and bar installations need no special electrical work.

Will the Washtech XV fit in a tight spot?
That is what it is for. 500mm wide, 600mm deep, 780mm high, so it goes under a standard 900mm bench with room to spare and into a 500mm gap the other Washtech undercounters cannot use.

Are detergent and rinse aid pumps included?
Yes. Dual chemical pumps for detergent and rinse aid are fitted as standard.

What comes with the Washtech XV?
The machine, one 450mm dish rack, one 450mm cup rack, a cutlery container, and a quick connection kit with all hoses and the 15A plugset.

Is the Washtech XV WaterMark certified?
Yes. The XV is WaterMark certified and meets health regulations in all Australian states.

Can I get a scratch and dent Washtech XV?
Sometimes. Moffat occasionally has units with freight damage or ex-display units at a reduced price. Ask if you want one and we will check availability.
