Washtech XU overview
The XU steps up from the Washtech XV with a larger 500mm rack, higher throughput and a taller 350mm wash chamber, while keeping the same four push-button controls and the same composite wash arm system. It suits kitchens that have outgrown a compact machine but do not need the touchscreen diagnostics of the Washtech UD.
How the Washtech XU cleans
Separated upper and lower composite wash and rinse arms with precision-moulded jets give consistent spray coverage across the full 500mm rack. Hot Rinse Retention drains dirty wash water during the cycle and replaces it continuously, so dishes are always washed in the hottest, cleanest water available. The final rinse sanitises at 82°C, meeting health regulations in every Australian state.
Which Washtech undercounter dishwasher do I need?
The XV, XU, XD and UD are all single phase 240V 15 amp machines using 2.2 litres per cycle with an 82°C rinse. The differences are rack size, chamber height, throughput and controls.

Simple to use
Like the XG and XV, the XU uses a simple, robust control system. Four push buttons: power on and off, drain, one minute cycle, two minute cycle. That is the whole panel. The Washtech control families are explained in our Washtech controls guide.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Washtech XU and the Washtech XV?
The XU is the bigger sibling of the XV. Same controls, same wash pump and rinse system, same composite wash arms, but it steps up to a full 500mm rack, a taller 350mm chamber and up to 1,080 plates per hour. If you need more capacity or wash taller items like platters, the XU is the step up.
What is the difference between the Washtech XU and the Washtech XD?
Both use the 500mm rack and are rated at up to 1,080 plates per hour on the same push-button controls. The XD has a taller 390mm wash chamber built for GN 1/1 pans, is 50mm deeper, and uses a Smartpower mini solid detergent dispenser with concentrated tablets. The XU has a 350mm chamber and dual liquid chemical pumps for detergent and rinse aid. Both weigh 54kg and run on single phase.
What rack size does the Washtech XU use?
The international standard 500mm x 500mm rack, the same as the Washtech UD and XD. Racks can be shared between machines if needed.
Does the Washtech XU need a hot water connection?
Hot water at 65°C is the ideal supply, through a 3/4 inch male connection at 200 to 350kPa. The XU will run on cold water, it just has to do more of the heating itself, so cycles take longer to reach the 82°C rinse. Drain is a 25mm flexi hose from the built-in drain pump.
How many racks per hour does the Washtech XU wash?
The machine side of the job is 60 or 120 seconds per rack. Real throughput depends on how quickly racks are loaded and unloaded between cycles, so the rated figure of up to 1,080 plates per hour is the ceiling, not a guarantee.
Does the Washtech XU need three-phase power?
No. It runs on a standard 240V 15 amp single phase supply, so most cafe and restaurant installations need no special electrical work.
Will the Washtech XU fit under a standard bench?
Yes. At 840mm high it fits under a standard 900mm bench with room for the supply hose and drain.
Are detergent pumps included?
Yes. Dual chemical pumps for detergent and rinse aid are fitted as standard.
What comes with the Washtech XU?
