The Washtech M2-605 is the narrow version of the Washtech M2 professional pass through dishwasher, with a 607mm wide cabinet built for a 595mm bench gap. It takes 500mm x 500mm racks, washes up to 1,080 plates per hour on 60, 120 or 180 second cycles, uses 2.4 litres of water per cycle, and has touchscreen controls with Heads Up Display, a 1HP soft start wash pump and an assured 82°C rinse from its own break tank and booster pump. It runs on a 15A 240V plug. $7,580 ex GST. Made in New Zealand by Washtech, distributed and serviced in Australia by Moffat.
Best for: Kitchens replacing a narrow bodied pass through, such as an Eswood ES25 or ES32, where a standard pass through cabinet will not fit the opening.

Washtech M2-605 overview
Washtech made the M2-605 for one job: replacing a narrow pass through without cutting benches. Swap out an Eswood ES25 or ES32 and the standard Washtech M2 cabinet can be too wide for the gap the old machine sat in. The M2-605 narrows the cabinet to 607mm on a fixed 595mm bench gap and keeps everything else the same as the M2: the touchscreen, the soft start pump, the 500mm racks, the 1,080 plates an hour and the assured rinse. The break tank and booster pump deliver the 82°C rinse at full pressure every cycle, so it does not slow down if your water supply is weak. If you want the steam captured at the machine, the Washtech M2C is the M2 with a heat recovery unit on top.
How the Washtech M2-605 cleans
Independent stainless steel wash arms cover the 500mm rack from top and bottom. The 1HP soft start wash pump ramps up rather than hitting the load at full power, so crockery stays where it was racked. The rinse is 82°C assured: the break tank and booster pump deliver it at full pressure and the cycle will not finish until the rinse has reached sanitising temperature. Two-stage stainless steel wash and drain filtration keeps the wash water clean, and the sump and drain pump empty the machine without pulling a plug.
Which Washtech pass through do I need?
All four take the standard 500mm rack. The M2-605 is the only one with a narrow cabinet.

Touchscreen controls and Heads Up Display
The M2-605 uses Washtech's professional touchscreen: cycle selection, chemical dosing, auto-drain and self-clean on one screen, with fault alerts in plain words. The Heads Up Display shows what the machine is doing from across the room. The controller comes with a bracket and can be mounted either side of the machine, under the bench or on the wall, which helps in a tight replacement where the old controls sat somewhere awkward. The Washtech control families are explained in our Washtech controls guide.
Warranty and support
The Washtech M2-605 is covered by 2 years on site parts and labour from Moffat Australia, with a national service network and spare parts stocked locally. Full details on our warranty page.
Frequently asked questions
Who makes the Washtech M2-605?
Washtech, in New Zealand. Washtech says the company started in 1981 as Wash Systems Limited, building its first undercounter dishwasher in a single car garage, and is now the largest manufacturer of professional dishwashing equipment in Australasia. Moffat distributes and services Washtech in Australia.
What is the difference between the Washtech M2-605 and the M2?
The M2-605 is the narrow version of the Washtech M2. The cabinet is 607mm wide and fits a 595mm bench gap only, where the M2 adjusts from 595mm to 640mm. Inside it is the same machine: touchscreen with Heads Up Display, 1HP soft start wash pump, assured rinse with a break tank and booster pump, 500mm racks and up to 1,080 plates an hour. The price is the same, and the M2-605 comes with a second dish rack. If your bench gap is 595mm and the opening is tight, the M2-605. Otherwise the M2.
Will the M2-605 replace an Eswood ES25 or ES32?
That is the job it was made for. If you are swapping out a narrow bodied machine like an Eswood ES25 or ES32, the standard pass through cabinet can be too wide for the gap the old machine sat in. The M2-605 has a 607mm cabinet on a 595mm bench gap to fit those openings. Send us your bench gap and the width of the opening before you order and we will check it.
Does the Washtech M2-605 need an exhaust hood?
Sometimes not, which could save you thousands. For the full story go to Do commercial dishwashers need a hood or a condenser? Before you spend money on a hood or a condenser machine, call us on 0412 034948 for more information.
What is an assured rinse?
The M2-605 does not rinse straight off your mains supply. It fills a break tank, heats that water to 82°C, and a booster pump delivers it to the rinse arms at full pressure. The rinse is the same every cycle, and the machine copes with low inlet temperature, flow or pressure, which makes it the right machine for sites with slow or weak water.
Does the Washtech M2-605 need three-phase power?
No. It comes with a 15A single phase plug and runs fully on single phase at 3.25kW. It can be set up for 25A single phase at 5.75kW or 15A three phase at 7.5kW for faster rinse recovery. Tell us before you order if you want it set up that way. The new supply is a job for your electrician.
What is EcoPower?
EcoPower stops all heating once the machine senses it has been idle, typically set at 10 minutes, and restarts on the next cycle, so you are not paying to keep water hot through quiet periods.
Can the touchscreen be mounted away from the machine?
Yes. The controller comes with a bracket that lets it mount on either side of the machine, under the bench or on the wall, and the machine can be installed either way round to suit where the controls go.
What is soft start?
Soft start powers the wash pump up gradually instead of hitting full power the instant the cycle begins, so crockery and glassware stay where they were racked and the pump lasts longer.
Can the Washtech M2-605 go in a corner?
Yes. Install it so racks are pushed into the back of the machine, allow 300mm clearance at the front for service access, keep any splashback return no higher than 150mm, and mount the touchscreen wherever it is easiest to reach.
What rack size does the Washtech M2-605 use?
The international standard 500mm x 500mm rack, the same as the M2, XP and the 500mm undercounters, so racks can be shared between machines.
Does the Washtech M2-605 need a hot water connection?
Hot water at 65°C is the ideal supply, through a 3/4 inch male connection at 100 to 500kPa and 10 litres a minute. Because the rinse comes from the break tank, it copes with low inlet temperature, flow or pressure better than a mains rinse machine.
Is the drain pump built in?
Yes. The sump and drain pump are standard. It drains through a 25mm flexi hose, so there is no gravity drain needed.
How many racks per hour does the Washtech M2-605 wash?
The machine side of the job is 60, 120 or 180 seconds per rack. Real throughput depends on how quickly racks are loaded and unloaded between cycles, so the rated figure of up to 1,080 plates an hour is the ceiling, not a guarantee.
Are detergent and rinse aid pumps included?
Yes. Dual chemical pumps are fitted as standard, with dosing set from the touchscreen.
What comes with the Washtech M2-605?
The machine, two 500mm dish racks (600 70028), one 500mm cup rack (600 70029), a cutlery container (C660503), and a quick connection kit with all hoses and the 15A plugset.
How big is the Washtech M2-605 packed?
Packed it is 760mm wide, 820mm deep and 1460mm high, and weighs 125kg. Check your doorways and any stairs before delivery day.
How much is delivery on the Washtech M2-605?
Delivery is typically $120 plus GST. Use the Freight Cost Guide button on this page for the exact price to your postcode, including whether a tailgate is needed.
Is the Washtech M2-605 WaterMark approved?
Yes. It has WaterMark approved backflow prevention, using an atmospheric vacuum breaker.
Can I get a scratch and dent Washtech M2-605?
Sometimes. Moffat occasionally has units with freight damage or ex-display units at a reduced price. Ask if you want one and we will check availability.
