The Washtech XG is a compact recirculating commercial undercounter glasswasher, 440mm wide, with a 365mm x 435mm rack, up to 540 glasses per hour, 1.5 litres of water per cycle and an 82°C sanitising rinse. It doubles as a light duty dishwasher. 15A 240V plug in. $3,080 ex GST. Made in New Zealand by Washtech, distributed and serviced in Australia by Moffat.

Best for: Cafes, wine bars and small restaurants washing up to 540 glasses an hour or light crockery, that need a compact, water efficient machine with simple push button operation.

Washtech XG overview

The XG is the recirculating machine in the 440mm footprint. It has the wash tank, wash pump and drain pump that the Washtech GE does without, which is what lets it wash in 1.5 litres a cycle instead of 4.5, drain hands-free, and put enough power through the rack to handle cups, saucers and small plates as well as glasses. Dual chemical pumps for detergent and rinse aid are built in. It uses the same four push buttons as the Washtech XV and Washtech XU. If you need a bigger rack or touchscreen controls in a bar machine, the step up is the Washtech GM.

How the Washtech XG cleans

The wash tank holds water at 65°C and the wash pump recirculates it over the rack for the 60 or 120 second cycle, so the machine only draws 1.5 litres of fresh water per cycle for the rinse. The rinse is 82°C assured, meaning the cycle will not finish until the rinse water has reached sanitising temperature, and the glasses air dry from the heat without a cloth. Stainless steel wash and drain filters catch scraps, and the hands-free drain pump empties the tank at the end of service without pulling a plug.

Which Washtech glasswasher do I need?

All four are single phase 15A plug-in machines with an 82°C rinse. The differences are whether the machine has a wash pump, rack size, water use, controls and whether it can do plates as well.

Simple to use

Four push buttons: power on and off, drain, one minute cycle, two minute cycle. That is the whole panel. Detergent and rinse aid dosing is adjusted through two holes in the front panel, no panels to remove. The Washtech control families are explained in our Washtech controls guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Washtech XG and the Washtech GE?
Same 440mm footprint, same 365mm x 435mm rack, same 540 glasses per hour, same push buttons. The XG has a wash tank, a wash pump and a drain pump, so it recirculates water, uses 1.5 litres per cycle instead of 4.5, drains hands-free, and can handle light crockery. The GE has none of those parts, drains by gravity and is $190 less ex GST. If you only wash glasses and want the least maintenance, the GE. If you want to put cups and small plates through it, or your hot water supply is marginal, the XG.

What is the difference between the Washtech XG and the Washtech GM?
The GM is the step up: 500mm wide with a 450mm rack, up to 960 glasses per hour, three cycles, touchscreen controls and a proper dishwashing capability. The XG is 60mm narrower, 14kg lighter, push button, and $1,410 less ex GST. If the bar is busy or you want one machine for glasses and plates, the GM. If space and budget are tight, the XG.

Can the Washtech XG be used as a dishwasher?
Yes, as a light duty dishwasher for small loads. Cups, saucers, side plates and cutlery are fine. It is not built for full dinner plates all night; that is what the XV, XU and UD are for.

Does the Washtech XG dispense chemicals?
Yes. Built in detergent and rinse aid pumps. The dosage is adjusted directly through two holes in the front panel, no need to remove any panels.

What rack size does the Washtech XG use?
A 365mm x 435mm rack, the standard size for most Australian bar glass racks. One is supplied with the machine.

Does the Washtech XG need a hot water connection?
Hot water at 65°C is the ideal supply, through a 3/4 inch male connection at 200 to 350kPa. The XG will run on cold water, it just has to do more of the heating itself, so cycles take longer to reach the 82°C rinse. Drain is a 25mm flexi hose from the built-in drain pump.

How many racks per hour does the Washtech XG wash?
The machine side of the job is 60 or 120 seconds per rack. Real throughput depends on how quickly racks are loaded and unloaded between cycles, so the rated figure of up to 540 glasses per hour is the ceiling, not a guarantee.

Does the Washtech XG need three-phase power?
No. It plugs into a standard 15A 240V single phase outlet.

Does the Washtech XG need commissioning?
No. It is quick-connect with everything supplied and ready to use out of the box. Connect the water and the drain hose, plug it in, and it is running.

Will the Washtech XG fit under a bar?
At 440mm wide, 515mm deep and 780mm high it fits under a standard 900mm bench with room to spare. Without the feet it is 635mm high, for plinth installation.

What comes with the Washtech XG?
The machine, one 365mm x 435mm glass rack, a quick connection kit with all hoses and the 15A plugset, and the user and maintenance guide. Detergent and rinse aid pumps are fitted.

Is the Washtech XG WaterMark certified?
Yes. The XG is WaterMark certified and meets health regulations in all Australian states.

Can I get a scratch and dent Washtech XG?
Sometimes. Moffat occasionally has units with freight damage or ex-display units at a reduced price. Ask if you want one and we will check availability.
