Product Overview

The Washtech M1C is a compact heat condensing pass through dishwasher that needs no exhaust hood and connects to cold water. A condenser unit sits on top of the machine and captures the steam from each cycle, so nothing escapes into the room and no canopy is required. It washes up to 840 plates an hour on 60, 120 or 180 second cycles, takes 450mm racks and suits a 600mm to 700mm bench depth, so it fits where a full size passthrough will not.

Washtech is made in New Zealand and distributed in Australia by Moffat, and the M1C carries the Washtech 5-2-2 promise: 5 years on the cabinet, 2 years on the wash pump and 2 years comprehensive parts and labour. Because it starts from cold water and brings it up to wash and rinse temperature, it runs on 415V three phase power, so an electrician makes the final connection.

Best for: smaller hospitals, aged care, schools and government sites where SEED certification is required, or any tight kitchen that cannot fit an exhaust hood.

Does the M1C need an exhaust hood?

No. The condenser unit on top captures the steam from each cycle, so no exhaust hood is required in any install, and the room stays cooler for staff.

Why does the M1C run on cold water and three phase?

Most dishwashers connect to hot water. The M1C connects to cold water, which runs through the condenser to absorb the wash steam and preheat the incoming water. Because it starts from cold and has to reach wash and rinse temperature, it needs the extra heating capacity of 415V three phase power.

What does SEED certification mean?

SEED stands for Sustainable by Engineering, Environment by Design. It means the M1C has been independently tested to comply with the Australian Standards listed in the National Construction Code 2016. For hospitals, aged care, schools and government sites where NCC compliance is a procurement requirement, SEED certification is the documentation you need.

What is the difference between the M1C and the M2C?

Both are heat condensing passthrough machines with the same no hood, cold water and SEED benefits. The M1C is the compact model: it takes 450mm racks, washes up to 840 plates an hour and fits a 600mm to 700mm bench depth. The larger M2C takes 500mm racks and washes up to 1080 plates an hour. Choose the M1C if space is tight or volume is lower.

What clearance does it need?

Allow 300mm at the front for service access. For corner installs, the machine should sit so racks push into the back, and any splashback return should be no higher than 150mm. The touchscreen bracket lets you mount the controls on either side, under bench or on the wall.
