Specifications from the Moffat Australia Washtech CD120 spec sheet (PDF download).
The Washtech CD120 is a 2 stage rack conveyor dishwasher that washes up to 120 racks, or 2,160 plates, an hour. Racks feed through a 1200mm wash module with a 2.0HP pump and a single stage final rinse, so staff load and unload without stopping the machine. The final rinse only runs while a rack is under it and its water runs back through the tanks, so it uses about 240L of hot water an hour in total. It has hybrid controls and an auto-start that idles it between rushes, and runs on 415V three phase. $26,580 ex GST. Made in New Zealand by Washtech, distributed and serviced in Australia by Moffat.
Best for: Hospitals, aged care, schools, clubs, function centres and large restaurants that have outgrown a pass through and need a steady rack flow through service.
Washtech CD120 overview
The CD120 is the step up from a pass through. A pass through stops for every rack. The CD120 keeps going, pulling racks through the wash and final rinse while staff load at one end and unload at the other, for up to 120 racks an hour. If you need more, the Washtech CD180 adds a pre-wash.
How the Washtech CD120 cleans
The conveyor pulls the rack into the 1200mm wash section, where a 2.0HP pump drives removable upper and lower stainless steel wash arm cassettes. The rack then moves on into the rinse section and pushes an arm that turns on the final rinse. Once the rack has passed, the arm drops back and the rinse stops. If the rinse is not up to temperature, the conveyor pauses until it is. The rinse water runs back into the wash tank to keep it topped up, and full width stainless steel filter trays catch the scraps.
Which Washtech conveyor do I need?
All three take 500mm racks on the same drive, wash module and hybrid controls, and the only fresh water is the final rinse. The difference is the stages in front of and behind the wash.

Frequently asked questions
Who makes the Washtech CD120?
Washtech, in New Zealand. Washtech says the company started in 1981 as Wash Systems Limited, building its first undercounter dishwasher in a single car garage, and is now the largest manufacturer of professional dishwashing equipment in Australasia. Moffat distributes and services Washtech in Australia.
How many racks an hour does the CD120 do?
Up to 120 racks an hour, which is 2,160 plates an hour in 500mm racks. Staff load at one end and unload at the other without stopping the machine, so it holds that rate through a busy service.
How does a rack conveyor dishwasher work?
The conveyor pulls each rack in and carries it through the wash and final rinse and out the other end. As the rack moves into the rinse section it pushes an arm that turns the final rinse on, and once the rack has passed the arm drops back and the rinse stops, so it only rinses if there is a rack under it. If the rinse water is not up to temperature, the conveyor pauses until it is, so every rack gets a full temperature rinse. The drive has a safety clutch, and the auto-start idles the machine if no racks are going through.
How much water does the CD120 use?
About 240L an hour, and that is all of it. The only fresh water the CD120 takes is the final rinse. The rinse water runs back into the wash tank, which keeps the wash topped up, so no extra water is used for the wash.
What is the difference between the CD120, CD180 and CD240?
They step up in stages and throughput. The CD120 is 2 stage, wash and final rinse, at 120 racks an hour. The Washtech CD180 adds a 600mm pre-wash for 180 racks an hour. The Washtech CD240 adds a 600mm eco-rinse as well for 240 racks an hour, and uses less water than the other two. Pick the model to match your peak rack volume, and call us if you are between sizes.
Does the Washtech CD120 need an exhaust canopy?
Plan for a canopy over it. Washtech gives a typical minimum extraction of 170L/sec, but it varies by site, so your ventilation engineer sets the final figure. If a canopy is not an option, Washtech makes a heat recovery version of the CD120. Call us on 0412 034948 for the price and details before you decide.
What power does the CD120 require?
415V three phase, 25A per phase, 16.0kW, hardwired with no lead or plug. This is not a single phase machine. Your electrician makes the connection, and the switch must be within 1m of the machine and not directly behind it.
What water supply does the Washtech CD120 need?
Hot water at 65°C through a 3/4 inch male connection, hose supplied, at 250 to 350kPa and 20 litres a minute, with dual check valve backflow prevention. It uses about 240L an hour, depending on your site.
What drain does the CD120 need?
A 1.5 inch BSP male waste connection to a drain line of 50mm minimum.
How much room does the CD120 need?
It is 1500mm long, 765mm deep and 1455mm high, plus your load and unload benches at each end. Send us your plan and we will check the run with you.
What are the controls on the Washtech CD120?
Washtech hybrid controls, the same simple system as the X series and the PW range. There is nothing to program, any staff member can run it, and the parts are simple and cheap to replace. Our Washtech controls guide explains it.
Is the CD120 easy to clean?
Yes. The upper and lower wash arm cassettes and the rinse arms lift out, and the full width stainless steel filter trays pull out for cleaning at the end of the day.
What comes with the Washtech CD120?
The machine, two 500mm dish racks (600 70028), two 500mm cup racks (600 70029), two cutlery containers (C660503) and a cutlery basket (C660508). There is no lead or plug, as it is hardwired.
How big is the Washtech CD120 packed?
Packed it is 1650mm long, 1000mm deep and 1500mm high, and weighs 265kg. Check your doorways, corridors and any stairs before delivery day.
