Specifications from the Moffat Australia NU 100 AS OX spec sheet.
The Scotsman NU 100 AS OX is a self contained undercounter ice maker that makes up to 45kg of dice cubes a day at 21°C, or 32kg at 32°C, into a 20kg built in bin. It has the XSafe natural sanitation system, plugs into a standard 10A power point, drains by gravity and sells for $2,890 ex GST. Scotsman ice makers are distributed and serviced in Australia by Moffat, with a 3 year parts and labour warranty.
Best for: cafes, restaurants, clubs and takeaways that want an all round dice cube for drinks and use around 30 to 45kg of ice a day.
NU 100 AS OX overview
The NU 100 AS OX is the entry point to the Scotsman NU dice range. The NUH 100 AS OX is the same machine and price with the smaller half dice cube.
If you need more ice from the same 600mm wide cabinet, the NU 150 AS OX makes up to 68kg a day. The NU 227 AS OX steps up to 95kg a day with a 37kg bin, 650mm wide.
How the NU 100 AS OX makes ice
The NU 100 AS OX uses Scotsman's vertical evaporator spray system. Water sprays onto a vertical evaporator grid and freezes into individual dice cubes, which drop into the bin at the end of each cycle.
Each cube is a 10g dice cube, 22mm each way. Dice is the all round cube: it suits soft drinks, spirits and cocktails, and is easy to scoop. Agion Technology in the machine resists the growth of microbes and the development of odours.
XSafe puts an LED UV light in the bin. The light turns the air in the bin ozone rich, and that air works its way through the ice and the whole bin, killing 99% of known viruses and bacteria and cutting down mould, mildew, yeast and slime. The ozone stays in the air, not the water, so there is no taint in the ice. It makes no heat and no noise, and has no moving parts. Read more in our XSafe guide.
Which dice ice maker do I need?
All four are self contained Scotsman dice ice makers with a built in bin, XSafe, gravity drain, 10A plug in and 3 year Moffat warranty. The difference is cube, output, bin size and footprint.

Simple to run
One touch cleaning runs the clean cycle at the press of a button, which saves time and labour. A light on the front panel comes on if the machine is due for routine maintenance, and the condenser air filter is easy to get to from the front. The bin door lifts and slides away out of the way to get to the ice.
Warranty and support
3 year parts and labour warranty, backed by Moffat Australia with on site service Australia wide. It covers faults in parts and workmanship under normal commercial use. Routine cleaning, descaling and filter maintenance aren't covered. See all Scotsman ice makers or read our warranty page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the NU 100 AS OX and the NUH 100 AS OX?
Same machine, same price, same 45kg a day at 21°C and 20kg bin. The NU 100 AS OX makes a 10g dice cube, 22mm each way. The NUH 100 AS OX makes a 6g half dice cube, 10 x 22 x 28mm, which packs tighter into a glass.
What is the difference between the NU 100 AS OX and the NU 150 AS OX?
Same 600mm wide cabinet, same 20kg bin and same dice cube. The NU 150 AS OX makes up to 68kg a day at 21°C against 45kg, and 48kg at 32°C against 32kg. It is $690 more.
How much ice does the NU 100 AS OX make?
Up to 45kg a day at 21°C air with 10°C water, and 32kg a day at 32°C air with 21°C water. Use the 32°C figure if your kitchen runs hot in summer. The 20kg bin refills as you use it.
Will the NU 100 AS OX fit under my bench?
At 770mm high on its feet, 600mm wide and 610mm deep it fits under a standard 900mm bench. Leave 100mm clear at the back and 150mm at both sides so the machine can breathe. It runs in air temperatures from 10°C to 43°C.
Do I need a plumber or electrician to install the NU 100 AS OX?
No. It plugs into a standard 10A power point and connects to a cold water tap with the supplied water hose. The supplied drain hose runs to a floor waste or drain.
What water and drain connection does the NU 100 AS OX need?
A ¾ inch cold water connection with water between 5°C and 38°C at 100 to 500kPa. The drain is gravity, so the floor waste or drain has to sit lower than the machine's ¾ inch drain outlet.
What is XSafe?
XSafe is Scotsman's natural sanitation system. An LED UV light in the bin makes the air ozone rich, and that air kills 99% of known viruses and bacteria through the ice and bin. It doesn't filter your water or stop scale, so you still need filtered water, descaling and a full bin clean from time to time. Our XSafe guide covers it in full.
How do I look after the NU 100 AS OX?
Run the one touch clean cycle regularly and wash the condenser air filter, more often in a greasy or dusty kitchen. A light on the front panel comes on if the machine is due for routine maintenance. Have a technician replace the XSafe LED every 12 months so it stays covered by the warranty. Regular cleaning and descaling are part of normal maintenance and aren't covered by warranty.
What comes with the NU 100 AS OX?
The machine comes with a removable air filter, an ice scoop, a water hose and a drain hose. A leg kit is available as an optional extra.
Do you have scratch and dent NU 100 AS OX machines?
Sometimes. Moffat occasionally has units with freight damage or ex-display stock at a lower price. It comes down to availability, so ask us if you want one.
