Best for: kitchens where running exhaust hood ducting to a dishwasher is impractical or too expensive. The Washtech M2C is a pass-through dishwasher built for busy cafes, bars, large restaurants and bakeries, running 1, 2 or 3 minute cycles and handling up to 1,080 plates per hour, with touch screen controls and a heads up display that mounts to wall, side or under bench.
Can the Washtech M2C run on single phase power?
Yes. It doesn't use any three phase motors, so single phase is possible. It needs a technician to modify it, runs on a 50A circuit, and takes longer to recover between wash cycles than the standard three phase setup.
Why does the M2C run on cold water and three phase?
Most dishwashers connect to hot water. The M2C connects to cold water, which runs through the condenser to absorb the wash steam and preheat the incoming water. Because it starts from cold and has to reach wash and rinse temperature, it needs the extra heating capacity of 415V three phase power.
Does the M2C need an exhaust hood?
No. The C in M2C stands for condenser. It captures the steam from every cycle internally, so no exhaust hood is required in any install, regardless of room ventilation, and the room stays cooler for staff.
What is the difference between the M2 and the M2C?
The M2C is based on the Washtech M2 dishwasher with a heat condensing unit added on top. It's usually chosen if an exhaust hood installation is impractical or too expensive.
What bench gap does it fit?
Either a 595mm or 640mm bench gap, the two most common sizes in Australian commercial kitchens, and it installs inline or in a corner.
What's in the box?
The dishwasher itself, a 500mm plate rack, a 500mm cup rack and the service connections for water, pumped waste, detergent and rinse fluid, plus a user and maintenance guide.
Does it dispense chemicals?
Yes, it has built in detergent and rinse aid pumps, adjusted via the touch screen. At the back of the machine there are two coiled tubes, both weighted and fitted with a filter, the clear one is detergent and the blue one is rinse aid.
