Product Overview
The Washtech M2 is a professional pass through dishwasher and the step up from the XP. It washes up to 1080 plates an hour on 60, 120 or 180 second cycles, and connects to hot water. A touchscreen with Heads Up Display drives it, with EcoPower idle management that stops heating when the machine sits idle, and it fits the two most common Australian bench gaps at 595mm and 640mm.
The M2 uses an assured rinse: a dedicated break tank and booster pump deliver a reliable 82°C sanitising rinse regardless of incoming water pressure, the same engineering as the larger AL. On its supplied 15A single phase plug the M2 needs no exhaust hood in a well ventilated space. Three phase power can be connected for extra rinse heating, and the power is uprateable for rapid rinse recovery.
Washtech is made in New Zealand and distributed in Australia by Moffat, and the M2 carries the Washtech 5-2-2 promise: 5 years on the cabinet, 2 years on the wash pump and 2 years comprehensive parts and labour.
Best for: medium to large restaurants, clubs, hotels and aged care that need professional controls and a reliable assured rinse without stepping up to a full high capacity machine.

Does the M2 need an exhaust hood?
Not on the supplied 15A single phase plug. On 15A the M2 meets the ventilation requirements without an exhaust hood in a well ventilated space. If you connect three phase for extra rinse power, ventilation should be considered for the install. If a hood is not an option at all, the M2C adds a condenser and needs no hood in any configuration.
How does the M2 compare to the XP?
The M2 is the professional step up from the XP. It adds a touchscreen with Heads Up Display, EcoPower idle management, and an assured rinse with a break tank and booster pump that holds a reliable 82°C rinse regardless of mains pressure. The XP is the simpler value machine that rinses on mains water pressure. Choose the M2 if you want professional controls and a guaranteed rinse, and the XP if you want the lower cost option.
What is EcoPower?
EcoPower stops all heating when the machine senses it has been idle, typically set at 10 minutes, and restarts on the next cycle. Across a busy week that saves a useful amount of energy with nothing for staff to do.
Can the control panel be mounted away from the machine?
Yes. The M2 touchscreen can be mounted in several positions and can be installed remotely away from the machine, which helps in tight or custom layouts.
Does the M2 need three phase power?
No. The M2 comes with a 15A single phase plug and runs fully on single phase. If three phase is available, it can be connected for extra rinse heating power, and the power is uprateable for rapid rinse recovery.
