Eight direct contact heating elements heat the 730mm x 590mm cooking area to up to 400°C, with no cooking grates required. Separate left and right heat zone controls let you run two temperatures at once, and indicator lights show which side is heating.
The cooking well fills with water to catch drippings, which improves performance, avoids fat fires and makes cleaning easier than a dry-catch design. A manual fill tap and a slide out stainless steel drain collection pan make servicing straightforward, and the elements hinge up on a safety support stay for cleaning underneath.
The CH8900ED-LS sits on a fully modular leg stand with heavy-duty 63mm diameter stainless steel legs and adjustable feet, with a framed stand shelf underneath for extra storage. It includes a rear roller kit as standard. A mobile castor kit is also available as an optional extra. Waldorf 800 Series is made by Moffat in New Zealand.
Best for: kitchens without gas that still want direct contact chargrill cooking at 900mm width, without needing an existing bench to mount onto.
Does the CH8900ED-LS need cooking grates?
No. The direct contact elements sit right under the cooking surface, so no separate grates are required.
Why does the cooking well fill with water?
The water filled well catches drippings as you cook, which stops fat fires flaring up and keeps the grill easier to clean at the end of service. It's a manual fill, and drains through the slide out collection pan.
What's the difference between the -B, -LS and -CB versions?
All three run the same 13.4kW chargrill. The -B is bench mount only, the -LS comes on a leg stand, and the -CB comes on a fully enclosed cabinet base. The leg stand is the most practical choice if you don't already have a bench to sit it on.
What power supply does the CH8900ED-LS need?
415V 3 phase. Electrical connection is 130mm from the left hand side, 30mm from the rear, and 635mm from the floor.
