The Scotsman ACM 107 AS is a self contained ice maker that makes up to 51kg of clear medium gourmet cubes a day at 21°C, or 43kg at 32°C, into a 23kg built in bin. It plugs into a standard 10A power point, drains by gravity and sells for $3,390 ex GST. Scotsman ice makers are distributed and serviced in Australia by Moffat, with a 3 year parts and labour warranty.

Best for: busy bars, clubs, pubs and restaurants that want clear gourmet cubes for drinks and use around 40 to 50kg of ice a day.

ACM 107 AS overview

The ACM 107 AS is the biggest machine in the AC range. It makes double the ice of the ACM 47 AS with the same medium gourmet cube, and holds more than twice as much in the bin.

The ECM 107 AS OX is the same size, cube and output with XSafe sanitation and a pump out drain added, for $200 more. The ACS 87 AS uses the same 531mm wide cabinet with a small cube. If you need more again, the ECM 127 AS OX makes up to 74kg a day into a 39kg bin.

How the ACM 107 AS makes ice

The ACM 107 AS uses Scotsman's horizontal evaporator spray system. Water sprays up into cups on the underside of the evaporator and freezes in layers. Minerals and air stay in the water that doesn't freeze, so the cubes come out clear and hard and melt slowly in a drink.

Each cube is a 20g gourmet cube, 30mm across and 34mm high. Agion Technology in the machine resists the growth of microbes and the development of odours.

Which gourmet ice maker do I need?

All four are self contained Scotsman gourmet ice makers with a built in bin, 10A plug in and 3 year Moffat warranty. The difference is cube size, output, drain and footprint.

Simple to run

The ACM 107 AS runs on simple electromechanical controls, so there is very little to go wrong. A light on the front panel comes on if the machine is due for routine maintenance. The condenser air filter pulls out from the front for washing, so the machine stays where it is. The disappearing bin door opens out of the way and closes softly on a damper.

What is the difference between the ACM 107 AS and the ECM 107 AS OX?
Same 20g medium gourmet cube, same 51kg a day at 21°C and 43kg at 32°C, the same 23kg bin and the same cabinet. The ECM 107 AS OX adds the XSafe natural sanitation system and Progressive Water Discharge, a pump out drain that moves water up to 15 metres, so it doesn't need a drain lower than the machine. The ACM 107 AS drains by gravity and is $200 cheaper.

How much ice does the ACM 107 AS make?
Up to 51kg a day at 21°C air with 10°C water, and 43kg a day at 32°C air with 21°C water. Use the 32°C figure if your kitchen or bar runs hot in summer. The 23kg bin refills as you use it.

Will the ACM 107 AS fit under my bench?
No, not under a standard 900mm bench. It stands 930mm high on its legs, 531mm wide and 600mm deep, so it suits the end of a bench, a back bar or a storeroom. Leave 150mm clear at the back and both sides so the machine can breathe. It runs in air temperatures from 10°C to 43°C.

Do I need a plumber or electrician to install the ACM 107 AS?
No. It plugs into a standard 10A power point and connects to a cold water tap with the supplied water hose. The supplied drain hose runs to a floor waste or drain.

What water and drain connection does the ACM 107 AS need?
A ¾ inch cold water connection with water between 5°C and 38°C at 100 to 500kPa. The drain is gravity, so the floor waste or drain has to sit lower than the machine's ¾ inch drain outlet. If you don't have a drain lower than the machine, look at the EC series, like the ECM 107 AS OX, which pump their water out.

What is the difference between medium and small gourmet cubes?
The medium gourmet cube in the ACM 107 AS is 20g, 30mm across and 34mm high. The small gourmet cube in machines like the ACS 87 AS is 8g, 21mm across and 25mm high. Medium suits spirits, cocktails and soft drinks in a standard glass. Small packs tighter into tall glasses and jugs.

How do I look after the ACM 107 AS?
Pull the condenser air filter out from the front and wash it regularly, more often in a greasy or dusty kitchen. A light on the front panel comes on if the machine is due for routine maintenance. Regular cleaning and descaling are part of normal maintenance and aren't covered by warranty.

What comes with the ACM 107 AS?
The machine comes on legs, with a removable air filter, an ice scoop, a water hose and a drain hose. Adjustable feet are available as an optional extra.

Do you have scratch and dent ACM 107 AS machines?
Sometimes. Moffat occasionally has units with freight damage or ex-display stock at a lower price. It comes down to availability, so ask us if you want one.
