Washtech Commercial Dishwashers and Glasswashers
Washtech make commercial dishwashers and glasswashers in New Zealand. They are distributed and serviced in Australia by Moffat, with a national service network and parts stocked locally. Every Washtech machine we sell carries a 2 year on site parts and labour warranty.
The company started in 1981 as Wash Systems Limited, founded by Des and Gary Brent, who built their first undercounter machine in a single car garage. Washtech is now the largest maker of professional dishwashing equipment in Australasia.
What does the Washtech range cover?
- Glasswashers for bars, from compact push button models up to touchscreen machines
- Undercounter dishwashers that plug into a standard 15A outlet
- Pass through dishwashers for busy kitchens
- Polish free glasswashers that rinse with treated water, so glasses come out spot free with no hand polishing
- Pot and tray washers
- Conveyor dishwashers for high volume kitchens
Push button or touchscreen?
Washtech run two control families. The X series (XG, XV, XU, XM, XP, XL and AL8) uses simple push button controls that any staff member can run, with low cost parts shared across every model. The professional series (GM, UD, M2, M2C and AL) uses a touchscreen with fault alerts, adjustable settings and an idle mode that stops heating after 10 minutes without use. Our Washtech controls guide explains both in detail.
Does a Washtech pass through dishwasher need a hood?
We have a ruling that a pass through running on its supplied 15A lead, like the XM, XP or M2, does not need a hood in a well ventilated space. That can save thousands on a fitout. Read more in our post Do commercial dishwashers need a hood or a condenser?, or call us and we will talk it through.
