Waldorf Continuum Series: Gas Cooktops
Continuum's new look sits on the same heavy duty gas engineering Waldorf's built its name on. Here's what's in the gas cooktops range so far.
Removable Burners
Waldorf's new open burners are a major improvement over the older 800 series fixed burners. The Continuum burners are now completely removable for cleaning or soaking, and they still put out the same 28MJ, so you're not losing power for the sake of easy cleaning.
Longer Lasting
The new burner body sits snug on the venturi, without the tight fit that made the old burners seize up over time. The burner caps are now cast iron, which will last for years. The older brass caps would corrode, warp and shrink.
Pilots Included
The Continuum open burners now have a pilot as standard. This lets you turn a burner off and have it ready to light again straight away, no more relighting burners through service.
Precise Control
The gas valves run high to low. Setting it in between gives you precise burner heat for finer control.
Gas Valves Protected
The front panel is now firmly secured with four fixing screws, up from two on the 800 series, which would easily come loose and shift out of place. The panel now has surrounds around the valves too, protecting them from cleaning chemicals, something the 800 series didn't have.
New Look
The panels now come in three different colours, or you can customise your own. It's called Cue, and it gives your line up a bespoke look. Since it's just the panel, it's a cost effective way to get a modern look without replacing the whole unit.
Splash Back
The splash back is now low profile as standard but can be swapped out for high profile. The splash back vent top is cast iron and comes off for cleaning.
Bull Nose
The Waldorf Continuum series has a rounded, friendlier bullnose. Easier to clean, and no sharp corners to catch on.
Bases
Choice of bases for the cooktop: bench, cabinet, leg stand or refrigerated. The stoves have a choice of static or convection oven.
Configuration
The top can be configured any way you choose at no extra cost. Any 300mm section can be supplied as a grill plate up to 900mm.
Sizes
Available in 300mm, 600mm, 900mm and 1200mm wide.
Italian Style
The 900mm six burner model can be changed to a four burner, 450mm wide layout. Suits larger pans for Italian style cooking, at no extra cost.
Pricing
For now, eattucker.com is keeping the Waldorf Continuum Series at Waldorf 800 series prices.
