Product Overview

The Washtech CD240 is a 4 stage rack conveyor dishwasher and the largest in the range. Racks feed onto a powered conveyor and move through a pre-wash stage, a main wash stage, a pre-rinse stage, then a final rinse, so staff load and unload without stopping the machine. It clears up to 240 racks or 4320 plates an hour, using a 600mm pre-wash module, the 1200mm wash module with a 2.0HP pump, and a 600mm recirculating eco-rinse module. That eco-rinse recovers water, so the CD240 uses just 180L an hour, less than the smaller machines despite the higher output.

Washtech is made in New Zealand and distributed in Australia by Moffat, and the CD240 carries the Washtech 5-2-2 promise: 5 years on the cabinet, 2 years on the wash pump and 2 years comprehensive parts and labour. It runs on 415V three phase power, so an electrician makes the final connection, and it needs an exhaust canopy over the machine. A condenser, or heat recovery, version is available if an exhaust is not possible.

Best for: the busiest kitchens, large function centres and institutions that need the highest rack throughput with the lowest water use per rack.

Does the CD240 need an exhaust canopy?

Yes. A rack conveyor pushes a lot of steam, so an exhaust canopy is required over the machine, with a typical minimum extraction of 250L/sec. If an exhaust is not possible on your site, a condenser version is available that captures the steam, ask us about the heat recovery option.

Why does the CD240 use less water than the smaller machines?

The CD240 has a 600mm recirculating eco-rinse module that recovers and reuses rinse water through the cycle. That drops water use to 180L an hour, less than the CD120 and CD180 at 240L an hour, even though the CD240 washes more racks. On a busy site that is a real saving on water and on the energy to heat it.

Does it need an electrician and a plumber?

Both. The CD240 runs on 415V three phase power at 32A per phase, so an electrician hardwires it and the isolating switch sits within 1m of the machine. It connects to hot water and drains through a 1.5″ BSP connection to a 50mm minimum drain line, so a plumber sets up the water and waste.

What is the difference between the CD120, CD180 and CD240?

They step up in stages and throughput. The CD120 is 2 stage: wash then rinse, at 120 racks an hour. The CD180 is 3 stage: pre-wash, wash then rinse, at 180 racks an hour. The CD240 is 4 stage: pre-wash, wash, pre-rinse then rinse, at 240 racks an hour. More stages give a better result at higher speed, so choose the model to match your peak rack volume.
