Specifications from the Moffat Australia Washtech TW spec sheet (PDF download).

The Washtech TW is an undercounter traywasher for bakeries, cafes and kitchens that need baking trays, sheet pans and GN pans washed under the bench. The 800mm wide, 545mm deep and 470mm high chamber takes baking trays up to 750 x 450mm flat on the TW carriage, and standard 500mm and 600mm racks for dishes, cups and cutlery. It runs 2 and 4 minute cycles with hybrid controls and an 82°C rinse, uses 3.3 litres of hot water per cycle and plugs into a 15A 240V outlet. $12,980 ex GST. Made in New Zealand by Washtech, distributed and serviced in Australia by Moffat.

Best for: Bakeries, patisseries, cafes and production kitchens that wash a lot of trays and pans, where there is no room or no three phase power for a potwasher.

Washtech TW overview

A standard undercounter dishwasher takes a 500mm rack, so baking trays and GN pans end up in the sink. The TW is 865mm wide with an 800mm chamber, so trays go in flat and come out washed and sanitised in 2 or 4 minutes. It fits under a standard bench, plugs into a 15A outlet and comes with QuikConnect hoses, so it goes in without three phase power. If you need tall pots and bins washed as well, the Washtech AL8 pass through or the Washtech PW1 upright are the next step up.

Does a traywasher need an exhaust hood?

Sometimes not, which could save you thousands. For the full story go to Do commercial dishwashers need a hood or a condenser? Before you spend money on a hood or a condenser machine, call us on 0412 034948 for more information.

How the Washtech TW cleans

Dual wash and rinse systems drive stainless steel wash and rinse arms with precision stainless steel jets. Choose 2 minutes for light loads, or 4 minutes for baked-on trays and pans. The final rinse is at 82°C, a triple stainless steel filtration system with dual scrap trays, a wash inlet filter and a drain filter keeps the wash water clean, and the built-in drain pump empties the machine at the end of service.

Which Washtech tray and pot washer do I need?

The TW is the undercounter on a 15A plug. The AL8 and PW1 are three phase machines with taller chambers for pots and bins.

Simple to use

Drop the door down, slide the trays in on the carriage or a rack, close the door, pick a cycle and start it. The TW uses Washtech's hybrid controls, the same simple control system as the X series, so any staff member can run it and repairs are cheap. Low chemical alarm lights tell you before you run out. The Washtech control families are explained in our Washtech controls guide.

Frequently asked questions

Who makes the Washtech TW?
Washtech, in New Zealand. Washtech says the company started in 1981 as Wash Systems Limited, building its first undercounter dishwasher in a single car garage, and is now the largest manufacturer of professional dishwashing equipment in Australasia. Moffat distributes and services Washtech in Australia.

What is a traywasher?
An undercounter machine built wide enough to wash baking trays, sheet pans and GN pans flat, which a standard 500mm undercounter dishwasher cannot fit. The TW has an 800mm wide, 545mm deep chamber with a TW carriage to hold the trays, and it still takes standard 500mm and 600mm racks for dishes, cups and cutlery.

What can the Washtech TW wash?
Baking trays up to 750 x 450mm, sheet pans, GN pans, mixing bowls, dishes, cutlery and cups. Anything that fits the 800mm wide, 545mm deep and 470mm high chamber and clears the 460mm door opening. A 600mm bakery adaptor is available as an option. If you have a particular tray size in mind, send it to us and we will check it.

Does the Washtech TW need an exhaust hood?
Sometimes not, which could save you thousands. For the full story go to Do commercial dishwashers need a hood or a condenser? Before you spend money on a hood or a condenser machine, call us on 0412 034948 for more information.

What is the difference between the Washtech TW and the AL8?
The TW is an undercounter that fits under a bench and plugs into a 15A outlet. The Washtech AL8 is a pass through warewasher on 415V three phase with a lift up hood and a 650mm clearance, for kitchens that wash tall pots and bins as well as trays. If it is mostly trays and pans and you need it under the bench, the TW.

What is the difference between the Washtech TW and the PW1?
The Washtech PW1 is a front loading upright potwasher on three phase with a 750mm high chamber and a tine bar for up to 8 trays standing up. The TW lays trays flat in an undercounter body, on a 15A plug, with no electrician needed for the power.

What power does the Washtech TW require?
240V single phase, 15A, 3.75kW. It comes with a 15A plugset, so it plugs into a 15A outlet. The circuit breaker should be rated 20% above the machine's current rating, so check with your electrician before it goes in.

What water supply does the Washtech TW need?
Hot water at 65°C through a 3/4 inch male connection, hose supplied, at 200 to 350kPa and 20 litres a minute. It uses 3.3 litres per cycle.

How do I drain the Washtech TW?
The drain pump is built in, so there is no gravity drain needed. The drain hose goes to a 38mm open standpipe up to 750mm high, or to a sink trap, and the hands-free AutoDrain empties the machine at the end of service.

What are the hybrid controls on the Washtech TW?
Hybrid is Washtech's name for the X series control system: stainless IP65 switches and proven switchgear with an electronic timer. Pick a 2 or 4 minute cycle and start it. There is nothing to program, and the parts are simple and cheap to replace. Our Washtech controls guide explains it.

Are detergent and rinse aid pumps included?
Yes. Dual detergent and rinse aid pumps are fitted with injector lines and chemical level sensors. Low chemical alarm lights tell you if a drum is running out, and priming switches get the chemical through after a drum change.

How does the Washtech TW door work?
It is a front loading undercounter with a door that drops down, the same as a standard undercounter dishwasher. There is no lift up hood. The door opens to give 460mm clearance into the chamber, and the open door gives you a shelf to slide the carriage and racks in and out.

How much room does the Washtech TW need?
It is 865mm wide, 660mm deep and 845mm high, with adjustable feet, so it needs an 865mm gap under the bench and a 660mm deep bench. The door drops down and sits 450mm out in front of the machine, so leave room to stand and load it.

What comes with the Washtech TW?
The machine, a 500mm dish rack (600 70028), a 500mm cup rack (600 70029), a cutlery container (C660503), a TW carriage (361 10030), and the QuikConnect kit with the drain pump and outlet hose, water hose, chemical lines and 15A plugset.

How big is the Washtech TW packed?
Packed it is 980mm wide, 800mm deep and 990mm high, and weighs 111kg.

How much is delivery on the Washtech TW?
Delivery is typically $120 plus GST. Use the Freight Cost Guide button on this page for the exact price to your postcode, including whether a tailgate is needed.

Is the Washtech TW WaterMark approved?
Yes. It has WaterMark approved backflow prevention, using an atmospheric vacuum breaker.

Can I get a scratch and dent Washtech TW?
Sometimes. Moffat occasionally has units with freight damage or ex-display units at a reduced price. Ask if you want one and we will check availability.
