Product Overview
The Washtech XL is the highest performance pass-through dishwasher in the Washtech X series — and one of the most capable commercial dishwashers on the market. With a 40 second complete cycle, 1,400 plates per hour throughput, and an exclusive fan jet wash system, the XL handles the demands of a 200 seat restaurant with ease. Built from fully welded stainless steel with simple PCB controls and a water pressure powered rinse, it delivers professional results with minimal complexity and low running costs.
Best for: High-volume restaurants, hotels, hospitals, aged care facilities and catering operations seating 150 or more covers that need maximum throughput and reliability.
How the Washtech XL cleans
The XL uses an exclusive fan jet wash system that delivers powerful, even spray coverage across the full rack in every cycle. The wash pump recirculates water at 800 litres per minute through upper and lower stainless steel wash and rinse arms. Unlike many pass-through dishwashers, the XL uses water pressure to power the rinse — eliminating the need for a separate rinse break tank and booster pump, simplifying installation and reducing components. A 316 grade stainless steel rinse and wash tank with double filtration and scrap trays keeps the wash water clean throughout service, and the machine starts automatically on hood closure.
The XL uses the same PCB control boards as the Washtech X series — simple, reliable and inexpensive to repair. For a full explanation of how Washtech controls work, see our Washtech controls guide.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Washtech XL compare to the Washtech XP? The XP is a single phase 15 amp machine suitable for venues up to around 100 seats, with a 60 second minimum cycle and up to 900 plates per hour. The XL is 3 phase and delivers a 40 second cycle with 1,400 plates per hour, making it the right choice for high-volume operations of 150 seats or more. The XL also uses an exclusive fan jet wash system not found on the XP.
Does the Washtech XL need a ventilation hood? Yes. The XL requires a ventilation hood for installation. If a hood is not possible, the Washtech M2C with heat condensing is an alternative worth considering.
Does the XL need a rinse booster pump? No. The XL uses mains water pressure to power the rinse, eliminating the need for a separate booster pump or break tank — simplifying installation and reducing ongoing maintenance.
What power does the Washtech XL require? 15 amp 3 phase. While 3 phase is required, the 15 amp draw means it is typically straightforward to connect in most commercial kitchen environments.
Is the Washtech XL WaterMark certified? Yes. WaterMark certified and compliant with health regulations in all Australian states.
