Product Overview
The Washtech M2C is a professional pass-through dishwasher built on the proven M2 platform, with one significant addition: a heat condensing unit mounted on top of the machine. This condenser unit transforms how the M2C handles steam, heat and water supply, making it the right choice for venues where no exhaust hood is possible, where cold water connection is the only option, or where compliance with the National Construction Code of Australia is a procurement requirement.
Best for: Hospitals, aged care facilities, schools, government venues, hotels and any commercial kitchen requiring SEED certified equipment or a fully self-contained pass-through dishwasher with no exhaust hood.
How the condenser unit works
Most commercial dishwashers connect to a hot water supply. The M2C is different. It connects to cold water, which runs through the condenser unit on top of the machine. The condenser works like a car radiator: the cold incoming water absorbs the heat and steam produced during the wash cycle, cooling it before it can escape into the kitchen. This process also recovers some of that heat, which is then used to preheat the cold water before it enters the wash cycle. Because the M2C starts with cold water and must bring it up to wash and rinse temperatures, it requires 3-phase power to deliver the extra heating capacity needed.
The result is a fully self-contained machine. No steam escapes into the kitchen, no exhaust hood is needed, and the kitchen environment stays cooler and more comfortable for staff.
SEED certified
The Washtech M2C holds SEED certification. SEED stands for Sustainable by Engineering, Environment by Design. It means the M2C has been independently tested and verified to comply with the relevant Australian Standards listed in the National Construction Code of Australia 2016. For hospitals, aged care facilities, schools and government-funded venues where NCC compliance is a procurement requirement, SEED certification removes the guesswork and the paperwork.

Controls and EcoPower
The M2C uses the same touchscreen control panel as the M2, with a digital display for cycle selection, temperature monitoring, chemical pump control and fault diagnostics. The panel can be mounted in multiple positions and can be installed remotely away from the machine, giving flexibility in tight or custom kitchen layouts.
EcoPower automatically stops all heating when the machine senses it is idle, typically set at 10 minutes. Given the M2C starts from cold water and uses 3-phase heating, EcoPower delivers meaningful energy savings in any venue where the machine sits idle between service periods.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the M2 and the M2C? The M2C is a standard M2 with a SEED certified C3 heat condensing unit added on top. The condenser means the M2C connects to cold water instead of hot, handles all steam internally so no exhaust hood is needed in any installation, and requires 3-phase power to bring the cold water up to wash and rinse temperatures. If your venue can connect to 15 amp single phase and does not need full NCC compliance certification, the M2 is the more cost-effective choice.
Why does the M2C need 3-phase power? Because the M2C connects to cold water rather than hot, it needs significantly more heating capacity to bring the water up to the required wash and rinse temperatures. 3-phase power provides that extra heating capacity. On-site 3-phase conversion is available if needed.
What does SEED certification mean? SEED stands for Sustainable by Engineering, Environment by Design. It means the M2C has been independently tested and verified to comply with the relevant Australian Standards listed in the National Construction Code of Australia 2016. For hospitals, aged care, schools and government venues where NCC compliance is required, SEED certification is the documentation you need.
Does the M2C need an exhaust hood? No. The condenser unit handles all steam internally, so no exhaust hood is required regardless of the power supply or installation type.
Can the M2C be connected to hot water? No. The M2C is designed specifically for cold water connection. The condenser system relies on the temperature differential between the cold incoming water and the heat produced during the cycle. Hot water supply is not compatible with this system.
What bench gaps does the M2C fit? The M2C fits either a 595 mm or 640 mm bench gap, the same as the M2, covering the two most common bench gap sizes in Australian commercial kitchens.
