Product Overview
The Washtech XP is Australia's most popular economy pass-through dishwasher - and when you buy it from EatTucker, it comes with a significant advantage no other supplier can offer. Following a detailed assessment of Australian Standards ventilation requirements, EatTucker has obtained a formal ruling confirming the Washtech XP does not require an exhaust hood in standard commercial kitchen installations. This means a simpler, cheaper installation with no hood fabrication, no additional ventilation work and no ongoing hood maintenance costs.
Best for: Cafés, restaurants, clubs, aged care facilities and hotel kitchens needing a high-throughput pass-through dishwasher without the cost and complexity of a ventilation hood.
No exhaust hood required — confirmed
Most suppliers will tell you that a pass-through dishwasher requires an exhaust hood, or that you need to upgrade to a condensing model like the M2C to avoid one. EatTucker has done the work others haven't. We obtained a formal ruling from Australian Standards on ventilation requirements confirming the Washtech XP does not need a hood in standard installations. If your installation is ever questioned, Sean can provide documentation to support it. No other Washtech dealer in Australia can offer this.
How the Washtech XP cleans
The XP passes racks through from one side to the other, allowing continuous loading during service - a major advantage over undercounter machines that require the operator to wait between cycles. Using 2.6 litres per cycle with a sanitising rinse at 82°C, the XP washes up to 1,000 plates per hour through its massive 430mm wash chamber - tall enough for large plates, serving dishes and deep bowls that won't fit in an undercounter machine.

Simple to run, easy to repair
Like the XU and XV, the XP uses two basic PCB control boards - one for timing and one for heating. Both are simple, proven components that have been in commercial kitchens for years. If one ever needs replacing, parts cost around $250 each and can be swapped quickly by any service technician. Push-button start means any staff member can operate the XP with zero training, and AutoStart means the cycle begins automatically when the hood closes, keeping service moving without any button pressing.

What is a pass-through dishwasher and do I need one? A pass-through dishwasher loads from one side and unloads from the other, allowing continuous racking during service. This makes it far faster than an undercounter machine for busy venues. It also has a taller 430mm wash chamber, meaning large plates, serving dishes and bowls that won't fit in an undercounter machine are washed with ease.
Can the Washtech XP run on single phase power? Yes, the XP runs on standard single-phase 240V 15-amp power. If 3-phase power is available, it can be connected for extra rinse heating power, but single phase is sufficient for most installations.
Can it be installed in a corner or inline? Both the XP can be installed corner or inline, giving you flexibility in how your kitchen is laid out.
What rack size does the Washtech XP use? The XP uses the international standard 500mm × 500mm rack, the same size as the Washtech UD and XU.
Is the Washtech XP WaterMark certified? Yes WaterMark certified and compliant with health regulations in all Australian states.
