Product Overview
The Washtech M2 is a professional-grade pass-through dishwasher with a gold star reputation among medium and large restaurants throughout Australia. Originally developed for the demanding standards of the dairy industry, the M2 brings exceptional build quality and reliability to commercial kitchens. With a touchscreen control panel, EcoPower idle management, an assured rinse booster pump and the ability to fit two of the most common bench gaps in Australian kitchens, the M2 is the step up from the XP for venues that need more performance and more flexibility.
Best for: Medium to large restaurants, clubs, hotels, aged care facilities and high-volume kitchens needing a professional pass-through dishwasher with advanced controls and reliable high-throughput performance.
No exhaust hood required on 15 amp
When connected to its supplied 15 amp single-phase plug, the Washtech M2 meets the same Australian Standards ventilation requirements as the XP and does not require an exhaust hood in standard commercial kitchen installations. If 3-phase power is available, it can be connected for additional rinse heating power. A condensing version, the M2C, is also available for installations where steam management is a priority. Contact Sean for details.
How the Washtech M2 cleans
The M2 uses Hot Rinse Retention throughout every cycle. Rather than washing dishes in the same water they started dirty, the M2 continuously drains cold dirty wash water during the cycle and replaces it with the hottest, cleanest water available. The final rinse sanitises at 82°C via a dedicated rinse booster pump that delivers a reliable rinse regardless of incoming water pressure. This assured rinse system is what sets the M2 apart from machines that rely entirely on mains pressure for rinse performance.

Controls and EcoPower
The M2 features a touchscreen control panel with a digital display for cycle selection, temperature monitoring, chemical pump control and fault diagnostics. The control panel can be mounted in several positions and can even be mounted remotely away from the machine itself, giving you flexibility in tight or custom kitchen layouts.
EcoPower automatically stops all heating when the machine senses it is idle, typically set at 10 minutes. In a busy service environment this translates to significant energy savings across the working week without any action required from staff.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Washtech M2 need an exhaust hood? No, not when connected to the supplied 15 amp single-phase power. On 15 amp the M2 meets Australian Standards ventilation requirements without an exhaust hood. If you connect to 3 phase for extra rinse power, contact Sean to discuss ventilation requirements for your specific installation. A condensing version called the M2C is also available for installations where steam management is the priority.
What makes the M2 different from the XP? The M2 is a professional-grade step up from the XP. It adds a touchscreen control panel, EcoPower idle management, an assured rinse booster pump for reliable rinse performance regardless of mains pressure, a remotely mountable control panel, a 316-grade stainless steel rinse tank and the unique ability to fit two different bench gap sizes. It uses 2.4 litres per cycle versus the XP's 2.6 litres.
What is EcoPower? EcoPower is a Washtech feature that automatically stops all heating when the machine has been idle for a set period, typically 10 minutes. It restarts automatically when the next cycle begins. In a busy commercial kitchen this can deliver significant energy savings without any action from staff.
Can the control panel be mounted away from the machine? Yes. The M2 touchscreen control panel can be mounted in several positions and can even be installed remotely away from the machine itself, giving flexibility in tight or custom kitchen layouts.
What bench gaps does the M2 fit? The M2 is designed to fit either a 595 mm or 640 mm bench gap, covering the two most common bench gap sizes found in Australian commercial kitchens. This makes it a practical replacement for other brands without the need for kitchen modifications.
Does the Washtech M2 need three-phase power? No. The M2 comes with a 15 amp single-phase plug set and operates fully on single phase. If 3-phase power is available, it can be connected for extra rinse heating power. On-site 3-phase conversion is available if needed.
