Product Overview
The Washtech GM-R is the polish-free version of the Washtech GM — Australia's most popular undercounter glasswasher. It shares the same proven platform as the GM but adds an assured rinse booster pump and connects to cold water rather than hot, allowing a reverse osmosis system to purify the rinse water before it enters the machine. The result is spotless, ready-to-serve glassware with no polishing required.
Best for: Bars, wine bars, hotels, restaurants and venues that need consistently spotless glassware and want to eliminate polishing labour entirely.
Why glasses need polishing — and how the GM-R eliminates it
In a standard glasswasher, the rinse water contains minerals and impurities. When the water dries on the glass, those impurities are left behind as spots and film, which is why glasses need polishing before service. The GM-R solves this by connecting to cold water and using a separate reverse osmosis unit to strip the water of all impurities before it enters the machine. Because the rinse water is pure, it dries completely clear with nothing left behind. No spots, no film, no polishing.
The Washtech ROC reverse osmosis unit is available separately from EatTucker — see the Washtech ROC page for details.
How the Washtech GM-R cleans
The GM-R uses the same Hot Rinse Retention system as the standard GM. During the wash cycle it continuously drains cold dirty water and replaces it with the hottest cleanest water available. The assured rinse booster pump then delivers a consistent, reliable rinse at 82°C regardless of incoming water pressure — critical in a polish-free system where rinse quality directly determines glass clarity. The touchscreen control panel provides digital diagnostics and fault alerts, fixed in position on the machine.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Washtech GM and the GM-R? The GM-R is the same machine as the GM with two additions: an assured rinse booster pump for consistent rinse performance, and cold water connection to allow a reverse osmosis unit to purify the rinse water. The result is spotless glasses with no polishing required. The standard GM connects to hot water and produces excellent results but glasses will still need polishing before service.
Do I need to buy the RO unit separately? Yes. The reverse osmosis unit is sold separately. EatTucker supplies the Washtech ROC unit at $3,720 plus GST. Contact Sean to discuss the full system for your venue.
Why does the GM-R connect to cold water? The reverse osmosis purification process works on cold water. Hot water cannot be treated by the RO system, so the GM-R is designed to connect to cold water, which is then purified by the RO unit before entering the machine.
Is the assured rinse important in a polish-free system? Yes. In a polish-free setup, rinse quality is everything. Inconsistent rinse pressure from mains water supply can lead to poor rinse results even with purified water. The assured rinse booster pump eliminates that variable by delivering a consistent rinse every cycle regardless of mains pressure.
Is the Washtech GM-R WaterMark certified? Yes. WaterMark certified and compliant with health regulations in all Australian states.
