New Washtech XP pass through dishwasher

Washtech XP pass through dishwasher

The Washtech XP is a pass through dishwasher that washes up to 1,080 plates an hour on 1, 2 and 3 minute cycles, using 2.2L of hot water a cycle. It takes 500mm racks, fits a 595mm to 640mm bench gap and plugs into a standard 15A power point. If you need more rinse heating later, it converts to 25A single phase or three phase on connection. Washtech XP is $5,980 ex GST, made in New Zealand by Washtech and backed by Moffat with 2 years on site parts and labour.

Who the XP suits

The XP is the step up from an undercounter. Cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs that have outgrown an undercounter but don't need a high speed machine are where it earns its keep. Racks slide in from the dirty bench, the hood comes down, and the cycle starts itself. Staff lift the hood and slide the rack out onto the clean bench.

How the XP washes

A 1HP wash pump drives the stainless steel wash manifold top and bottom. Stainless steel scrap trays and a wash and drain filter catch the food. The final rinse runs at 82°C. Detergent and rinse aid are pumped in by the machine, so there is nothing to top up by hand except the drums.

The XP has no rinse booster pump, so the rinse depends on your water supply. Washtech asks for 20L a minute at 200 to 350kPa. If your flow is weak, the Washtech M2 has a rinse tank and pump that rinse properly regardless of water pressure.

Controls

The XP runs Washtech hybrid controls, which are simple push buttons. Pick a 1, 2 or 3 minute cycle and close the hood. There is nothing to program, any staff member can run it, and the parts are simple and cheap to replace.

Power: 15A, 25A or three phase

The XP comes with a 15A lead and plugs straight in at 3.25kW. That suits most sites. The machine has more heating in it than a 15A circuit can feed, so it can be connected two other ways:

  • 25A single phase: 5.75kW, for faster rinse recovery.
  • Three phase: 7.5kW. A second rinse element is connected, doubling the rinse heating, and the wash heating gets its own phase.

Your electrician makes the change. Just let us know which supply you have when you order.

Does the XP need a hood?

On its supplied 15A lead, in a well ventilated space, we have a ruling that the XP does not need an exhaust hood. If you connect it on 25A or three phase, talk to us first. Read more in do commercial dishwashers need a hood or a condenser.

Pick the XP if your water flow is good and you want a simple machine at the best price. Pick the M2 if your water pressure is poor or you want touchscreen controls. If you need more speed and have three phase, look at the Washtech XL, a hardwired high speed machine with a 1.5HP wash pump.
